House in beautiful Haarlem, 12 minutes from Amsterdam Center and the sea
Our house has been build in 1911 and it is situated at the fringe of the center of the old town of Haarlem, near the central railway station and a nice shopping area. We have a city home on the ground floor, with a very spacious living room, a new kitchen, a separate toilet, a bathroom and a master bed room (bed is 160 x 200). In the back house there is also a stair to a 2e floor. Upstairs is the 2nd bedroom /study room with a large bed, with 2 matresses (so you can sleep, if you want, separate in 2 beds).
Our street is very nice and the people are very helpful.
Our house is just 7 minutes walking to the St. Bavo cathedral and the old town hall.
The city is very old and beautiful. There are many interesting buildings, musea, theaters and shops. Amsterdam is so close that you can go by bike. By train (6 minutes walking) you are in 12 minutes in the middle of the center of Amsterdam.
The North Sea is only 6 kilometers away. The dunes are beautiful. You can drive there by car (5 minutes) or go by bicycle (15 minutes). The dunes are also very nice to walk through.
Our public transport is very good. From Schiphol to Haarlem by bus, every 6 minutes. The old cities Leiden (20 min., Delft 46 minutes, etc., you can reach theme very often and fast.

Thijs and Mariel have had both all the vaccinations for Covid-19
Children can play in our garden and in the park.
In our street lives many children (mixed population of families and older people)

We like to discover new interesting places and enjoy to be surprised by nice and friendly Intervac members.
Our favorite interests are meeting people, walking through old cities, musea, nature, playing golf. We are fond of reading books, listen to music, enjoying art movies. We love to be outside. Our Intervac exchange- home needs a garden or balcony! In wintertime it does not matter. But in summertime we love to sit, read, eat outside on a balcony or better even in a garden.

Plein de gentilles attentions pour notre arrivée Nos échanges ont été chaleureux et fréquents.Leur maison a beaucoup de charme ,ainsi que leur petit jardin .Elle est idéalement située, au calme, tout en étant proche de la gare et du centre ville .L’ideal pour decouvrir à pied, à velo ou en transports en commun les jolies villes de la region. Haarlem est une ville très jolie et très agréable à visiter. On s’est senti comme chez nous chez Mariel et Thijs et on les remercie vraiment...On a également apprécié de pouvoir utiliser les vélos pour nous rendre dans le parc National. En résumé un séjour vraiment réussi chez des "amis" .

BE51797We hebben erg genoten van Haarlem en de thuis van Thijs en Mariel. Dankzij de fietsen die we mochten gebruiken konden we nog meer leuke plekken ontdekken! Het was vlot communiceren en heel fijn om mekaar in levende lijve te ontmoeten! Dankjulliewel en tot een volgende keer!

FR090172Haarlem est une ville très agréable et moins touristique qu'Amsterdam, tout en étant très bien desservie par les transports en commun. C'est vraiment une très belle opportunité pour découvrir la vie des Pays-Bas, à vélo, à pied ou en train.
Mariel et Thijs sont des hôtes adorables avec une très belle maison calme et agréable à vivre .
Nous sommes restés en contact car c'est un vrai partage dans l'esprit d'Intervac.

FR243178Très bel échange, la maison était super, très propre et agréable, très bien placée par rapport à la gare pour aller à Amsterdam en train, pour aller à la plage en vélo, pour visiter Haarlem à pied… Nous avons pu beaucoup échanger avec Mariel et Thijs avant et pendant le séjour et nous avons reçu de bons conseils pour notre séjour ! Il y avait des vélos pour toute la famille.

BE53289Le logement était très bien organisé avec un petit cadeau de bienvenue ! Logement cosy et confortable. le quartier est bien aéré, toutes les commodités sont proches (magasins, centre vile, mer, gare..) on peut tout faire à vélos (gentiment prêtés par nos hôtes)
