Modern flat close to the metro, city and nature
We live in Stockholm, the beautiful capital of Sweden, which is often referred to as Venice of the North.
We have made three successful exchanges, two with Spain and one with the US. We love to travel to cities and to the sea. We are looking for a longer exchange (2 weeks) for the summer 2020 and shorter exchanges during the rest of the year.
Out flat is modern and located only two minutes from the closest metro station and about 15 minutes from Stockholm city. Our home is located in an area called Bromma, which is a safe and sound neighborhood with many green areas and lakes, as well as all service needed for a good living. Our flat is 82 square meters, divided on two bedrooms, an open-spaced dining room/living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom, which also is equipped with a washing machine and a dry tumbler. We also have a lovely balcony where we like to sit and eat our breakfast or having a drink watching the sun goes down.
If you like music we have guitars and a keyboard at home. We have X-box One, a 55” TV with many channels and free WIFI. We don’t have toys for younger children anymore, but games for outdoor and indoor play. We have two bikes (adult sizes) that you are free to use. You are also free to use our car. It is not big nor fancy but it is a reliable Ford Fiesta.

Our flat is located directly outside a nature area with a small lake (where it’s possible to swim during summer or ice skate during the winter). This area is perfect for a run or a relaxing walk. One of our "neighbor" is a sports center with two indoor swimming pools, a gym and bowling mall. Outside we have a smaller field for spontaneous soccer/basketball plays. Within a distance of 1-10 kilometers there are several beaches for sunbathing and swimming.
In Brommaplan (1 kilometer away), you have all service you need, including two supermarkets, bank offices, bakery, drugstore, and a few fast food restaurants. There are more shopping options within a short distance, either in Bromma Blocks or in Vällingby Centrum. Or in Stockholm city of course! You will reach the central parts of Stockholm within 15-20 minutes if you go by the metro.
There is an Airport in Bromma (not listed above) if you would like to visit other parts of Sweden. There is also a well-developed railway network if you prefer going by train.
Stockholm is a fantastic city to visit in all seasons. It is called the Venice of the North! The best climate is normally May to September but there are lots of activities all year round. Stockholm offer historical places and cultural experiences, good shopping opportunities, and many restaurants. The nature is close, we have a large and adorable archipelago, and many green areas. The water in our lake Mälaren is clean and it is actually possible to swim also in the more central parts of Stockholm!

My name is Hillevi, I am 48 years old and working as a researcher/analyst in psychology. I have a lovely son, Alexander who is 13 years old. Sometimes my mother or a friend travels with us. We have two friendly cats and an aquarium. Since the cats get highly distressed when they are away from our home we would be very happy if you would like to care for them during your stay. We love all animals - and would like to care for yours as well! If you don't feel happy about spending your holiday with two cats, we may arrange for some alternative for the cats. Alex and I love to travel and we both like to experience new places and taste new food. We also like sun bathing, swimming and shopping, so a perfect destination for us, incldes both options! We are fond of big citys, and some of our favorites are Rome, London and New York! Italy is especially close to our hearts! Me (Hillevi) also heart nature experiences.
