We are extremely disappointed with the last exchange with Austrian partners, to the point that we are thinking of leaving this association or consulting a lawyer to denounce what has happened. One of the first disappointments was the partner's rejection to take care of our cat, even though it was a condition of the exchange. We had to pay for a pet hotel for the whole period and to coordinate everything while we were on holiday. These members with their continuous unfounded complaints, their insults on the phone, shouting also in phone conversations (especially from the wife) have ruined our holiday. The members reported, not always in good manners, a problem with odour in the flat. We have called several plumbers, the president of the community and both told us that the problem was external to us, a downspout in the building. The Austrian members do not seem to have believed the professionals or the president of the community and have continued to be continuously annoyed. To alleviate this discomfort, we offered them another flat that we have 20 km away (Avilés), indicating that we only have a few days some free before and some after an Airbnb booking. Due to their aggressive response, refusing to leave and then return, we have decided to cancel the Airbnb booking we had, so that they do not have to leave the flat in Avilés. This has cost us a loss of €417.67 of the booking + €108.35 penalty + loss of the superhost badge on Airbnb. With this effort, we were hoping for a peaceful holiday in the end, but nothing could have been further from the truth. A few days later they called us, indicating that the clutch was smoking, because they had had to reverse down a hill (I thought the situation was strange, but they hid the truth until 5 days after the exchange). That day of the call, I advised them to let the clutch cool down and use it again, because it looked like they had been forcing it. They call a mechanic a few hours later and put him on the phone, the mechanic tells me that he has driven the car a few miles and that he sees everything perfectly, they don't believe their own mechanic either. On returning from holiday, we were told that our car had been involved in an accident on the way down to a car park and the roof of the entrance collided with our ski box, which was completely scratched. It is not difficult to imagine how this smell and smoke from the clutch originated when reversing on a hill... These are the main nightmares we have had, but there are more.
