A beautiful cosy wooden house in the mountains of Montnegre

Our house is called "La Clariana", which is the Catalan word for a clear space in the forest or in the clouds. It is called so because that is what it brings: a refuge of peace. Located in the boundary of the Parc Natural del Montnegre, it is made of wood, designed and built following ecological standards.

It is very cosy and comfortable, with windows in all rooms framing the outside forest. It has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with a shower, a bedroom for my two daughters with two individual beds, and a big space including open kitchen, dining and living room from which you have excellent views, including the Pyrenees, and they're 100 km away!

We have a wooden terrace (18 sq mt) with a pergola, connected to the house. The land is 1500 square metres, natural gardening style (Mediterranean), mixing garden and forest. It has a small pond and even a zip-wire.

We also have a barbecue, with (another) pergola, under which you can sit around a table and enjoy the grills!. In summer, we assemble a pool 4 metres long, 2’2 m wide and about 80 cm deep (7000 lt), where we have lots of fun. This pool is in the middle of a flat terrain with hammocks and parasols, and it is a lovely corner to lay down and read or have a drink.

There are different levels in the garden, all connected by stairs and a 10% slope additionally. You can just step out of the garden walking straight into the forest and trek as much as you want following the numerous paths that stretch all over the surrounding mountains.

The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. I designed and conceived La Clariana as a space to share with my friends, for everyone to relax and enjoy as if it were theirs, to forget about “protocols”. When our friends are around, they know they can have a nap in any of the many places you can find to do so, if they wish to. Now we are ready to share this not only with our old friends, but with those that enjoy nature and family alike too. And that might be you. Welcome!

By car, you are 10 minutes away from the beaches of Santa Susanna and Pineda, and 15-20 from Calella. There are plenty of restaurants in the area.

Waterworld Lloret, an aquatic parc, is only 20 minutes away, and Marineland, a marine park with dolphins, seals and other animals, is only 15 minutes away. For the cities, Barcelona is 40 minutes away by car (70 minutes by train), and Girona is 30 minutes. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. We live in a dead end street, where all neighbours have known each other for donkeys years and get along very well.

About Our Family

We are a family of three: myself and my two daughters of 12 and 17 years old. I work for myself running a project about nature and personal restoration. My daughters like dancing and singing, drawing and all sorts of artistic things, and we are especially keen on travelling. My older daughter is away this year studying in USA, so temporarily it is only me and Ivet, my younger daughter. We like to meet new people from foreign countries and learn about their culture and ways.

Lifestyle

My daughters have been dancing since they were four, so we often attend ballet festivals and contests where we can enjoy their talent. This takes most of our Saturdays, so we make the most of Sundays and holidays to go around and visit places. In my case, I spend a lot of time swimming in open waters (seas, rivers and lakes) and teaching people how to become familiar with this fascinating world of water. I am involved in some nature projects, fostering rewilding both people and our surroundings for a better life, but never forgetting we are humans!

I have a channel on Youtube (James Manresa) and on my social Networks @jamesmanresa where I both show the world of open waters through my eyes and at the same time encouraging people to embrace nature.
Our house is actually a sanctuary of local species of animals and plants, the result of more than 20 years of rewilding.
We hope you enjoy it!
