Spacious house in quiet and green neighbourhood
Our house has a spacious living room with open kitchen and lots of light. We have 4 spacious rooms, three of which are used as a bedroom and one as an office. Both Nora's room and Enzo's room have a single bed. There also is an extra single mattress to create an extra sleeping place. Our backyard faces south-west and is nice and sunny. There is an electric sun blind. There is also a hammock in our living room, which can easily be hung, with doors that swing open to the garden.
The house is located in a quiet, green and safe neighborhood where no cars drive past in front of or behind the house. There is a parking space behind the house. In front of the house there is a playing field for children (basketball, football, swings) and a large park with a petting zoo is a 5-minute walk away. There is a large shopping center, a subtropical swimming pool (and ice skating rink in the fall & winter) and train station within 5 minutes of cycling distance. The bus stop is also only a 5-minute walk away.

Ons huis heeft een ruime woonkamer met open keuken en veel licht. We hebben 4 ruime kamers, waarvan er drie als slaapkamer en eentje als kantoor gebruikt wordt. Op Nora haar kamer staat een laag peuterbed, in Enzo zijn kamer een eenpersoonsbed. Er is een extra eenpersoons matras om een extra slaapplek te creëren. Onze achtertuin ligt op het zuid-westen en is lekker zonnig. Er is een elektrische zonwering aanwezig. In onze woonkamer is ook een hangmat, die eenvoudig opgehangen kan worden.
Het huis staat in een rustige en groene buurt waar geen auto's voor of achter het huis langs rijden. Er is een parkeerplaats achter het huis. Voor het huis is een speelveldje voor kinderen (basketbal, voetbal, schommels) en op 5 minuten lopen is er een groot park met (kinder)boerderij. Op 5 minuten fietsafstand is er een groot winkelcentrum, een subtropisch zwembad en treinstation. Ook de bushalte is slechts 5 minuten lopen.

Deventer is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. It is a city with almost 100,000 inhabitants in the central part of the Netherlands, located on the IJssel river. Deventer offers many (historical) sights and has all the amenities of a larger city (subtropical swimming pool, open-air swimming pool, cinema, theater, etc.). It has a cozy historic city center with a large Saturday market and full of terraces. The center of Deventer is only 20 minutes by bike or 10 minutes by car. There are also a number of nice museums, including the toy museum. In addition, Deventer is close to all kinds of beautiful walking and cycling routes. Nationals Parks like Sallandse Heuvelrug and De Hoge Veluwe are not far away (30 minutes by car).
Deventer is pretty central in the Netherlands. You can reach the highway in 5 minutes and due to its central location, a large part of the Netherlands can be reached in about 1 hour by car: Zwolle (40 km), Arnhem (45 km), Amsterdam (85 km), Rotterdam ( 115 km), The Hague (125 km). There is a bus stop a 5-minute walk away and a train station a 15-minute walk away. The central station is only 15 minutes by bus or 20 minutes by bike. From there you can go in all directions in the Netherlands.
Deventer is een van de oudste steden van Nederland. Het is een stad met bijna 100.000 inwoners in het centrale deel van Nederland, gelegen aan de rivier de IJssel. Deventer biedt veel (historische) bezienswaardigheden en heeft alle voorzieningen van een grotere stad (subtropisch zwembad, openlucht zwembad, bioscoop, schouwburg, etc.). Het heeft een gezellig historisch stadscentrum met een grote zaterdagmarkt en vol terrasjes. Het centrum van Deventer is slechts 20 minuten fietsen of 10 minuten met de auto. Er zijn ook een aantal leuke musea, waaronder het speelgoedmuseum. Daarnaast ligt Deventer vlak bij allerlei mooie wandel- en fietsroutes en is Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe niet ver.
Op 5 minuten lopen is er een bushalte en op 15 minuten lopen een treinstation. Het centraal station is slechts 15 minuten met de bus of 20 minuten met de fiets. Vanaf daar kun je alle richtingen in Nederland op. Met 5 minuten ben je op de snelweg en door de centrale ligging is een groot deel van Nederland bovendien in ongeveer 1 uur rijden met de auto bereikbaar: Zwolle (40 km), Arnhem (45 km), Amsterdam (85 km), Rotterdam (115 km), Den Haag (125 km).

We are a pleasant family of four with a mixed cultural background. Erli (father, 35) is from Suriname and Laura (mother, 33) from the Netherlands. Our children are Enzo (7) and Nora (3). We have been living in the Netherlands again since the end of 2019 after living in Suriname for a number of years. Erli is a former firefighter and currently a central heating technician. Laura is a cultural anthropologist and currently works for the local government.
We love cooking, food, walking/nature, music, museums, sports and culture and traveling.
Laura did a lot of home exchange with her parents when she was younger and because we would like to travel more with the children, this seems like the ideal way!
Wij zijn een gezellig gezin van vier met een gemengde culturele achtergrond. Erli (vader, 35) komt uit Suriname en Laura (moeder, 33) uit Nederland. Onze kinderen zijn Enzo (6) en Nora (2). We wonen sinds eind 2019 weer in Nederland na een aantal jaren in Suriname te hebben gewoond. Erli is ex-brandweerman en tegenwoordig CV-monteur. Laura is cultureel antropologe en werkt momenteel voor de lokale overheid.
We houden van koken, eten, wandelen, muziek, musea, sporten en cultuur en reizen. Laura heeft veel woningruil gedaan met haar ouders toen ze jonger was en omdat we graag meer willen reizen met de kinderen, lijkt ons dit de ideale manier!
