Classy villa in the green and near Ghent
Near the center of the cosy villages Landegem and Merendree. Within walking distance of train station with easy connection to Ghent, Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, coast, ... Many cycling, walking or waterfun opportunities in the area.
Spacious villa with nice garden with tree house, sandpit and fire pit. Lots of shady spots and space to build camps in the forest. Several bicycles available.
Our house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: the master bedroom with a double bed, Elias' room with a bed and extra bed beneath and Aaron's room with a double bed and bank bed.

About the neighborhood
We live on the road to the station in Landegem. During school periods it can be busy, but during the holidays and weekends it is very quiet.
Landegem is a rural municipality located 15 km from the centre of Ghent. It belongs to the city of Deinze and is located in the Leie region. It is known for its many cycling, walking and water sports opportunities. There are many cycling and walking junctions near the house. Be sure to pass the charming villages in the area such as Hansbeke, Merendree, Latem and Deurle. In addition to the many cultural opportunities in Ghent, there are many museums in the region including Mudel, Dhondt Dhaenens and Roger Raveel. In summer, there are many cozy and family-friendly summer bars nearby. We also have cozy bars and nice restaurants in different price ranges nearby.
We wonen op de weg naar het station in Landegem. Tijdens schoolperiodes kan het druk zijn maar in de vakanties en weekends is het heel rustig.
Landegem is een landelijke gemeente op 15 km van Gent centrum. Het behoort tot de stad Deinze en ligt in de Leiestreek. Deze is bekend om de vele fiets-, wandel- en watersport mogelijkheden. Er zijn vele fiets- en wandelknooppunten nabij het huis. Passeer zeker ook eens de gezellige dorpjes in de buurt zoals Hansbeke, Merendree, Latem en Deurle. Er zijn naast de vele culturele mogelijkheden in Gent veel musea in de streek waaronder Mudel, Dhondt Dhaenens en Roger Raveel. In de zomer zijn er vele gezellige en gezinsvriendelijke zomerbars in de buurt. We hebben ook gezellige bars en lekkere restaurants in verschillende prijsklasses nabij.

The family Gartner is a very kind and loving family! Their house is very cosy and comfortable. The village is quiet but still you have everything you need. You are close to mountains and a lot of lakes. A real pleasure to do house exchange with them!
De huizenruil was een heel fijne ervaring. De familie was zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Het huis was heel gezellig en goed voorzien van alles wat we nodig hadden. De omschrijving van hun huis klopte helemaal.

Hello! We are a family with a mother and two sons. I was born in 1982 and work at a university of applied sciences in Ghent where I mainly do research. A few years ago I got divorced and continued to live in the original family home. In the meantime, we have loved living here since 2010. The children are with me part-time. I love sports (walking, cycling, running, yoga, padel,...), seeing family and friends (drinking tea, cooking or exercising together,..) and cultural trips (film, theatre, exhibitions,...). I also enjoy working in the garden and being creative (clay, sewing, ...). I have a new relationship with Sven. He is 5 years older than me and has 3 teenage children.
So an exchange can happen for my children and me or for Sven and me.
Aaron is a sporty teenager who loves Lego, Nerf, Nintendo Switch, Gravitec and football. He plays for the local football team as a defender or goalkeeper. He's also a big fan of the train, hence his large Lego train collection ;-)
Elias is a lively toddler who loves to play outside and is a fan of plasticine, Duplo, Paw Patrol and Spiderman. He likes to sit with his hands in the sand or the earth.
Hallo! We zijn een gezin met een mama en twee zonen. Ik ben geboren in 1982 en werk op een hogeschool in Gent waar ik vooral onderzoek doe. Enkele jaren geleden ben ik gescheiden en ben ik blijven wonen in de oorspronkelijke gezinswoning. Ondertussen wonen we hier al heel graag sinds 2010. De kinderen zijn halftijds bij mij. Ik hou van sport (wandelen, fietsen, lopen, yoga, padel,...), familie- en vrienden zien (thee drinken, samen koken of sporten,..) en culturele uitstappen (film, toneel, tentoonstellingen,...). Ik kan ook er genieten van in de tuin werken en creatief bezig zijn (klei, naaien, ...). Ik heb een nieuwe relatie met Sven. Hij is 5 jaar ouder dan mij en heeft 3 tienerkinderen.
Een ruil kan dus gebeuren voor mijn kinderen en mij of voor Sven en mij.
Aaron is een sportieve tiener die houdt van Lego, Nerf, Nintendo Switch, Gravitec en voetbal. Hij speelt bij de plaatselijke voetbalploeg als verdediger of doelman. Hij is ook een grote fan van de trein vandaar zijn grote Lego trein collectie ;-)
Elias is een levendige kleuter die graag buiten speelt en fan is van plasticine, Duplo, Paw Patrol en Spiderman. Hij zit graag met zijn handen in het zand of de aarde.
