Hoogstraten, Belgio

The area where we live gives you the opportunity to visit a lot of historical cities of Flanders/Belgium, but also tourist resorts in the Netherlands because we are situated very close to the border with the Netherlands. We are also well situated for walks and bicycle-tours in a flat and wooded coutryside.

Hoogstraten is a small medieval town with the typical Flemish character. You’ll find a Gothic cathedral, the beguinage appearing on the World Heritage List of UNESCO, historical houses, bistros, restaurants and shops etc. Inside the gothic cathedral you can see many of the most famous and beautiful Belgian glass in stain windows. The countryside around Hoogstraten is very flat and wooded. This makes our area very pleasant to bicycle trips. There are many routes reserved exclusively for cyclists.
The area is very rural, which give you the opportunity to relax. On the other hand Belgium and the Netherlands offer a lot of beautiful historical cities in less than one hour driving from our home. In addition, the southern part of the Netherlands, Flanders and Brussels region offer in spring and summer full of cultural activities. Some recommended destinations:

We live in a big modern house with tree floors. On the ground floor there is the living room and lounge with antique pine furniture, a well equipped kitchen, toilets, a large veranda overlooking the garden, a garage for cars and bicycles, shed and room for the washing-machine and drying-machine. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: two bedrooms with one double bed and one bedroom with single bed, bathroom with shower and bath and toilet. On the same floor is also a library and office for personal administration and computer. On the second floor there is a large bedroom and also a large barn and a atelier to draw, sculpt and paint.

Our house is located in a residential and very quiet district of Hoogstraten. At 50 meters there is a small children-park with swings and other games. We have a garden in front of the house and a garden behind, closed and private. There are several trees that offer shadow in summer and a small pool with terrace and relax-chairs to sunbath if you like and a large teak-wooden table to eat outside when weather is fine. Our back-garden is situated to the South, so it is very nice and sunny. Our house has been built in 1994 and offers all modern comfort. There’s central -heating in all the rooms and the house is well equipped with an anti-theft alarm-system in every place.

The historical center of Hoogstraten with its old houses and shops are located 700 meters from our house. You’ve also good access to public transport by bus.
