Large comfortable flat in a residential area in central Barcelona
We live in a 200m2 apartment located in a good, safe area in central Barcelona. The apartment is in a quiet building (only 12 neighbors), and has a doorman during the mornings. The apartment was completely renovated in 2010.
The apartment is spacious and has air conditioner in every room. There are 3 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms (one with bathtub and the other one with shower), big kitchen with a dining table, dining room, living room, office/computer room and laundry room. Wi-Fi is available.
The area is also quiet but very central, 10 minutes away from Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla Catalunya by foot. There are also many buses 3 minutes away, and it is fairly close to subway and railroad stops.
There are many supermarkets and grocery stores around the area, a farmer’s market, bakeries, etc. It is also a nice commercial area, with many shops like Zara, Mango, Bimba&Lola... You can find a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and other leisure opportunities like cinemas, outdoors swimming pool… all of them at a walking distance. We’ll be happy to recommend the best places to visit.
We are also well communicated by train, with Sants and Plaça Catalunya stations 15 minutes away by public transport. From those stations you can travel to very interesting places in Catalonia: Sitges, the beaches in Tarragona (Salou, Cambrils), or the ones in Maresme or Girona (Costa Brava) or even Port Aventura, one of the biggest theme parks in Europe.
We are a 60-year-old married couple (a doctor and a librarian).
Any country in Europe is suitable for us. We love getting to know new cities and we also appreciate to be able to enjoy nature's peace.

La casa era incluso mejor que en el anuncio, muy confortable y preciosa. Grande, con mucha luz y un jardín muy agradable. La ubicación muy buena, muy cerca de la costa y el paseo marítimo, pero también al lado de la zona comercial del pueblo. La comunicación con la familia fue fluida y fácil. Nos dieron muchas facilidades en la casa para poder estar con nuestra hija y su perrito. Fueron muy amables en todo, incluso enviándome 2 camisetas que me olvidé en su casa.
Lovely people, excellent communication before and during the exchange and they left our home sparkling! Their home is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. It is in a lovely part of Barcelona, quieter than the major tourist area, but that is easily accessible. The hosts also provided a super guide to restaurants and bars.
Los Galland han sido muy amables y nos han dado muchas facilidades. La comunicación con ellos ha sido muy buena tanto antes como durante el intercambio. Destaco la información turística que nos ofrecieron, muy completa, sobre todas las diferentes zonas próximas a su domicilio, de tipo turístico, con folletos, y muchas recomendaciones de lugares para visitar y también comercios típicos o buenos sitios para comer. También muy buena las instrucciones de la casa y las recomendaciones de comercios y lugares de su ciudad. La casa es muy bonita y acogedora, incluso mejor de lo que reflejan las fotos. Está muy cuidada. Y es muy grande.Está decorada con mucho gusto, combinando modernidad con muebles antiguos.Ha sido una estancia muy agradable.
Echange chaleureux et accueillant, appartement très confortable dans un quartier agréable de Barcelone. Nous avons passé un formidable séjour. Communication amicale avant et pendant l'échange. Conseils et bonnes adresses étaient au rendez-vous. Très bon souvenirs en famille.

We are a 60-year-old married couple (a doctor and a librarian). Leo loves music and opera. Rosa Maria enjoys reading and travel.
We've got two adult children: our daugter Claudia (30) lives in London and our yourger son Marcel (27) lives in his own apartment in Barcelona.
For most exchanges, it will be just the two of us. Maybe one of our children will travel with us from time to time.
