Sharing Our Swedish Roots and Our Love of Simple, Meaningful Experiences
We are Lisa and Magnus, a calm, thoughtful couple in our mid‑fifties who love discovering the magic in everyday moments.
Sometimes we travel just the two of us, and sometimes one or several of our older children join — they are 13, 20, 21, 24 and 25 years old. Whenever they come along, it becomes something truly special.
The exchange is for Lisa’s apartment, which can be available at any time of the year.
Lisa works as a consultant and is originally from Skåne, in the southern part of Sweden, known for its open landscapes, long beaches and gentle, rolling countryside. Magnus is an aviation engineer from Dalarna, the cultural heart of Sweden, with its red cottages, rich traditions and the beautiful Siljan area. These roots have shaped us both — a love of nature, culture, and good conversation runs deep.
We love spending time together, and with our family and friends. Cooking and gathering around a meal is one of the ways we connect; sharing food, stories and everyday moments is an important part of our life. When we travel, discovering local food traditions is always a joy for us, whether it’s a simple regional dish or a small neighbourhood restaurant where everyday life unfolds.
Music also plays a big part in our lives. We often spend evenings listening to live jazz in small, intimate venues. When travelling, we seek out experiences that capture the soul of a place: a quiet café with good coffee, a beautiful stretch of coastline, a conversation with a local, a small exhibition, an independent gallery or a piece of history tucked away in a museum. I (Lisa) adore the ocean — and Magnus enjoys it too!
We are considerate, reliable and very respectful of others’ homes. Our lifestyle is peaceful and unhurried; we value kindness, curiosity and simplicity. Travelling is our way to unwind, learn and feel inspired.
We also have summer houses in both Mora (in Dalarna) and Västervik (on the east coast), which means we know and appreciate many different parts of Sweden. If we were to exchange homes, we would be delighted to share our favourite hidden spots, cultural gems, cafés, nature experiences and local insights — not only from our city, but from across various regions of Sweden.
